Eveswell Primary School is situated in a very pleasant area of Newport city. Serving a catchment area of privately owned and rented houses, the school has a tradition spanning over a century within a very supportive community. A new school replaced the old Victorian buildings in 1989.
The accommodation, therefore, is modern and of the highest standard and as a new school it is very well resourced. The Nursery unit is housed in a separate building on the same campus. It offers well appointed accommodation within a pleasant gardened area. The facilities have been extended recently to further develop our provision for our three and four year old children. There are about 485 pupils attending the school including the Nursery children.
Local history tells of a well that existed in the vicinity of the school and about a girl called Eve who supposedly fell into the well. This is where the area and the school got its name and its logo.
